John Thompson is an artist whose original training at the University of North Dakota was involved with etching and printmaking.  After receiving his degree in fine arts in 1972, he traveled and was involved in a variety of graphic and fine arts activities.  His sense of humor is found in all facets of his work.  In the last 15 years his pursuits are more deeply involved with carving and sculpting wood.  He also sculpts stone.  John prefers to be a “luddite” in his art pursuits.
